The very best Malaysian cuisine I have ever experienced in London to date, hands down. 100% authentic taste, no joke. Like anyone with Malaysian heritage, it's embedded in ones' blood to seek out eating places serving the most authentic dishes possible that originate from Malaysia. Having searched far and wide and either being disappointed or feeling I could have had better elsewhere, C&R is the only place I've found that serves dishes that taste identical, if not extremely close to the ones you would get back in the hub of South East Asia that is Malaysia. The restaurant itself is pretty tidy and well laid out. It has only one floor and roughly around 10 tables or less (I could be wrong mind), and there's some mouth watering pictures of food displayed, but all in all it's nothing to write home about. Then again, you don't go to a restaurant to gawk at the interior design, you go there to eat the food. Unless there's something wrong with you, or you're one of those Yelp “critics”. The food, my god, is absolutely amazing and faithfully represents the dishes back in Malaysia, everything from looks, textures and tastes. My particular favourites are Wa Tan Hor/Hor Fun, Singapore Laksa and the Char Kway Teow: they (and the other dishes I tried) pretty much taste like how they would back in Malaysia. Just chuck them in a cheap plastic bowl, stick an air con over your head and have some guy come over selling you lottery tickets, and you've pretty much got the full Malaysian experience. The service is pretty standard I've found and the staff are polite, nothing more nothing less: in other words, it's good. I'm not sure what all these people are talking about when they write about “rude staff” but I'm guessing they just can't handle how direct or no-nonsense people can be from that region of South East Asia. To draw everything to a conclusion, forget what the internet says, don't listen to what your friends tell you, and stick a finger up at other restaurants declaring themselves “authentic” like it actually meant something. C&R is, and only is, the truly authentic tasting Malaysian restaurant I have come across in this bustling city.

Worst dining experience ever!!!!!!!!!! My dish contained 147 fried chillies which I brought home as I couldn't consume after one bite,,, wife's dish was so bland you'd get more taste out of water, menu only had dish title and no explanation so we got a bad recommendation by the staff? See you again she said? I think not!
