(Warning - Long Review) Let me start by apologising to all those who left very good review for this restaurant. I am sure you had amazing experience but I personally felt let down by Hala. We went as party of five (four adults and one baby) for a dinner on Saturday evening. I made a table booking online for 8pm but when we arrived we were asked to wait 45 minutes, eventually were asked to sit on a table with three chairs and one baby chair so mother of the baby had to share a seat with table next to us. Turkish bread, salad and sauces arrived soon but there was no cutlery for another 15 minutes or so. When we asked for cutlery it arrived but for only three adults only, we asked for bottle of sparkling and bottle of still water, they sent two cans of sparkling water and a glass of tap water. I prompted the waiter that we need large bottle of still water, he went back and brought four glasses of tap water instead. We ordered mix platter which arrived however none of the starters came i.e. humus, kisir saksuka etc. Unfortunately no one was looking after our section and almost four different waiters dealt with our queries. I had to seek attention of the Manager and told him that our starters did not arrive and told him about lack of service. He apologised and put it down to super busy service and said he will 'sort' it out for us. We finished our dinner and asked for the bill and guess what? The manager comes with big bowl of salad and all the starters which did not arrive at the beginning of dinner and we were like 'we have finished eating' to which his reply was 'please let me make it up to you'!!! Whole experience was shambles, manager did offer us free espresso and reduced the bill by 20% and we thanked him for it but told him that we did not raise those concerns to get any freebies. Please also note the restaurant does not serve chicken or lamb donner, instead you will get kofte in your platter. Also they dont have their own wood oven (or atleast I did not see one) which means Pide is not authentic. Food iteself was very good, our experience was marred by bad service only. Perhaps try it but only during off peak hours and your experience may be different to ours. For me, I wont be going back for sure.
