I think I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve visited this place. A good excuse is that it was near to my university! First thing to say about customer service, when the place is empty they will attend to you promptly and will usher you kindly to a table. When the establishment begins to get a little crowded, that’s when you need to tell the waiter/waitresses that you have been waiting (I’ve come to know that they keep a waiting list during peak times where you have to put your party size down). But all in all, they are polite but could probably be a bit more friendly and passionate about the place. The interor of the place looks like a retro diner. I remember my first time stepping into Tinseltown and being excited. They have celebs up on the wall throughout and have TV screens with modern music playing in the background. The place is clean and tables and chairs are comfortable enough. I’ve yet to try everything on the menu but the ‘Chicken-Zilla’ seems to always be a hit with me. The creamy cajun flavour is probably the best variant of this dish and it isn’t too spicy. With this dish (along with a few others) a side and sauce for you to choose is included. I always order fries and the piri-piri sauce to go with the zilla. I have also tried the ‘BBQ Buffalo Wings’ and let me tell you, they are messy so be prepared to eat with your hands (not that I have a problem with that). The timing of the order and delivery of food is acceptable, in busier times you’d probably have to wait a little longer than usual since the team of staff at Tinseltown is small. The desserts…are so filling. I’ve tried the ‘Oreo Supremo’ and I can never finish it off (maybe I need to work on my appetite?) The cake itself is soft and has crunchy bits of Oreo cookie inside. You get to choose if you want your cake to be served with whipped cream or a soft-serve ice cream. I have also ordered the ‘Ferrero Sundae’ which is amazing and I managed to finish it (yay). The ice cream is soft and the sauce and Ferrero Roche is just the right ratio to the ice cream. I do recommend at least trying this sundae once (If you’re not allergic to hazelnuts that is). Overall, I’m rating this food place a 4 out of 5. I take one mark off for the staff and the chicken - sometimes it tastes quite hard and chewy. The prices are reasonable and they offer takeaways. Which reminds me, I tried my first milkshake at Tinseltown and oh boy, they did not disappoint. I think I recall having the Oreo shake and it was like melted ice cream with Oreo..ahhh bliss (now I can understand the hype of milkshakes from this place) I’ve also tried all the three smoothie variants and I love them! Recommended place to visit with friends or family. Oh oh! one more thing...this establishment serves halal meat :D
