Very tasty Druze cuisine. This is why NYC's food scene is amazing. Where else can you just pop into a Druze restaurant? It's basically an Arabic/Israeli combo in terms of what the food is like. Highly recommended.

We had 3 choices to pick for tonight's dinner...Turkish, Southern, Malaysian. We decided upon the road less taken...Turkish. Sometimes the road leads to an adventure and sometimes it's a road that people do take for a good reason. This tiny establishment had a good feel. The hostess and owner was friendly upon entering. We arrived just slightly before dinner so our choice of seating. It quickly filled up as the night progressed. The menu had a typical assorted menu from Babaganous to the hummus but we wanted to try some that we didn't see often and what we liked when were in Istanbul... Warm grape leaf stuff with meat and Kibbe to start. Kafta kabob and chicken kabob as entrees. One of the house specialty is the pies which are delightful and filling. The warm grape leaf was slightly tart from the leaf and the meat with the cucumber yogurt was a good start. The meat and herb filled Kibbe made of bulgur casing had a nice texture although slightly on the dry side with Tahini sauce. Our main entrees where well seasoned. The chicken herb and slightly charcoal had a nice flavor as was the Kafta meat which was well seasoned. It came on a place of rice with a side of salad which was refreshing to the palate. With 2 Turkish restaurant nearby, this tiny place with its cute charm and home style food certainly won me over.
